Searches for "pre wedding shoot" in India peak at around 50,000 a month from November to January, which is the wedding season. Most couples spend those weeks scrolling reels, trying to picture themselves in a palace courtyard or on a beach, and trying to agree on a location before the photographer's calendar fills up.
You can try that on before you pay for it. Each prompt below takes a photo of the two of you and puts you in a different pre-wedding shoot, with your faces left exactly as they are. Use the results to choose a location, settle on outfits, or show your photographer what you mean.
They work in ChatGPT and in Gemini. Each one also has a fill-in template so you can change the location, outfits and pose without editing the prompt.
Before you start: the line that keeps your faces yours
Every prompt here includes this clause, and it does more work than anything else in it:
Keep both people's faces, facial features, skin tones, hairstyles, body proportions
and expressions exactly as they are — do not beautify, lighten skin, slim, or change
their age.
Without it, image models "improve" faces. They smooth skin, lighten complexions, narrow jaws and make two real people look like a stock-photo couple. Naming skin tone and "do not lighten" matters especially here: it's the change models make most often to Indian faces, and nobody wants a preview of their wedding with someone else's face in it.
Two practical tips: use a photo where both faces are clearly lit and about the same size, and avoid sunglasses. The face the model can't see properly is the one it makes up.
1. Rajasthan palace
The classic royal pre-wedding shoot: carved sandstone arches, a long corridor and golden-hour light.
Edit this photo of a couple into a pre-wedding shoot at a Rajasthan palace courtyard.
[Keep both faces clause]
Outfits: her in a dusty-rose lehenga with gold zari embroidery and a sheer dupatta,
him in an ivory bandhgala with a maroon safa.
Pose: walking hand in hand through a row of arches, her glancing back at him and laughing.
Setting: carved sandstone jharokha arches, a still reflecting pool in the courtyard.
Lens: 85mm, f/2. Lighting: late golden-hour sun raking through the arches.
Colors: sandstone gold, dusty rose and ivory — rich but film-like.
Photorealistic, 4K ultra-high definition pre-wedding photography.

Generated output. The arches repeating into the distance give the depth. The pastel lehenga against warm sandstone keeps the colours soft. A red lehenga here tends to look too heavy against the stone.

2. Kerala backwaters
Cream kasavu, coconut palms and still green water. It's one of the calmest pre-wedding looks, and it's best in early morning mist.
Edit this photo of a couple into a pre-wedding shoot on the Kerala backwaters, sitting
together in a narrow wooden canoe. [Keep both faces clause]
Outfits: her in a cream kasavu saree with a gold border and jasmine in her hair,
him in a cream mundu and a pale linen shirt — handloom cotton, natural creasing.
Pose: him rowing lazily while she trails her hand in the water, both smiling.
Setting: still green water, coconut palms leaning over the canal, mist on the far bank.
Lens: 50mm, f/2.8. Lighting: soft early-morning light, low and golden.
Colors: cream, gold and deep tropical green, calm and film-like.

Generated output. A wider frame than the other prompts. Here the location matters as much as the couple, and the palms reflected in the water are what make it recognisably Kerala.

3. Himalayan snow (December to February only)
Snow shoots are only possible for a few winter months, which is one reason they're so popular. Preview the outfits first: snow is very bright, and it shows up any colour that doesn't work.
Edit this photo of a couple into a winter pre-wedding shoot on a Himalayan pine slope
near Gulmarg, in fresh snow. [Keep both faces clause]
Outfits: her in a deep maroon embroidered pheran with a cream woollen shawl, him in a
charcoal wool overcoat and cream knit scarf — dressed for real cold.
Pose: him wrapping the shawl around her shoulders while she laughs up at him.
Setting: snow-laden deodar pines, a wooden hut with smoke rising, white peaks behind.
Lens: 85mm, f/2. Lighting: soft winter afternoon sun, snow bouncing fill into both faces.
Natural skin texture, cold-flushed cheeks.

Generated output. A deep jewel tone (maroon) stands out against the white, while pastels tend to disappear into it. The snow also bounces light up into both faces like a reflector.

4. Goa beach sunset
The most-requested beach look, and the easiest to get wrong. With the sun behind you, both faces usually go dark. The prompt fixes that by using the wet sand to bounce light back up.
Edit this photo of a couple into a pre-wedding shoot on a quiet Goa beach at sunset.
[Keep both faces clause]
Outfits: her in a flowing ivory chiffon dress, him in a white linen shirt with rolled
sleeves, both barefoot — light fabric moving in the sea breeze.
Pose: him spinning her at the water's edge, her dress flaring, both laughing.
Setting: wet sand reflecting the sky, palms on the headland. Lens: 70mm, f/2.2.
Lighting: low sun directly behind the couple, rim-lighting hair and shoulders, with the
bright sand bouncing soft fill back into both faces so neither falls into silhouette.
Colors: peach, ivory and soft gold, warm and film-like.

Generated output. "So neither falls into silhouette" is the important part of this prompt. Without it you get a nice sunset with two dark shapes in front of it.

5. Old-city street candid
For couples who don't want a "pre-wedding" look at all: everyday clothes, chai at a street stall, a rickshaw going past, and no posing.
Edit this photo of a couple into a candid street-style pre-wedding shoot in a narrow old
Delhi lane. [Keep both faces clause]
Outfits: her in a mustard cotton saree, him in an off-white kurta with rolled sleeves.
Moment: sharing a small clay cup of chai at a street stall, her laughing at something
he said — caught unposed, as a documentary photographer would.
Setting: weathered walls, tangled overhead wires, hand-painted shop boards with no
readable text, a cycle rickshaw passing. Lens: 35mm, f/2.8.
Lighting: late-afternoon sun slanting down the lane.
Colors: muted and earthy with one strong accent from the outfits, film-like.

Generated output. "Hand-painted shop boards with no readable text" is there because AI-generated street signs come out as nonsense lettering. Asking for no readable text avoids it.

6. 90s Bollywood retro
Retro AI portraits are one of 2026's longest-running photo trends, and in India that means 90s Hindi film songs: chiffon in the wind, mustard fields and slightly faded film colour.
Edit this photo of a couple into a 1990s Bollywood-film-style pre-wedding shoot.
[Keep both faces clause]
Outfits: her in a flowing chiffon saree in bright yellow, him in a white kurta with a
light knit sweater over his shoulders.
Setting: a field of yellow mustard flowers stretching to the horizon.
Pose: her spinning with arms outstretched, the pallu lifting in the wind, while he
watches her smiling.
Look: shot on 35mm colour film of the period — warm halation around highlights,
slightly lifted blacks, gentle grain, colours a touch faded.
Photorealistic, 4K scan of a 1990s film still.

Generated output. The film-stock description (halation, lifted blacks, faded colour) is what makes this look like the 90s. Asking for "retro" alone usually gets you a sepia filter.

The sweater over his shoulders is a small detail, but it's one of the clearest signals of the period.
7. City night, lo-fi film
The opposite of a polished studio portrait: direct flash, film grain and a bit of motion. Imperfect-on-purpose photos have taken over from heavily retouched ones, and this is that look applied to a couple shoot.
Edit this photo of a couple into a night-time pre-wedding shoot on Mumbai's Marine
Drive sea wall. [Keep both faces clause]
Outfits: her in a black satin saree with a sleeveless blouse, him in a black shirt.
Moment: sitting on the sea wall sharing a paper cone of roasted corn, laughing.
Look: lo-fi editorial — direct on-camera flash lighting their faces, with ambient city
light dragging slightly behind them, visible film grain, imperfect framing.
It should feel like a real night out, not a studio portrait.
Colors: black, warm sodium orange and deep blue. No retouching.

Generated output. Direct flash freezes the couple while the slow shutter turns the city lights into streaks behind them. That combination is what gives editorial night photos their look.

8. South Indian temple corridor
Traditional South Indian couple photos (silk saree and veshti, jasmine, temple jewellery) are among the most searched couple looks of the year. A long granite corridor with light falling between the pillars makes the most of them.
Edit this photo of a couple into a traditional South Indian pre-wedding shoot in a long
carved granite temple corridor. [Keep both faces clause]
Outfits: her in a deep green and magenta Kanjeevaram silk saree with a wide gold zari
border, him in a white silk veshti with a gold border and a cream silk shirt with an
angavastram — silk with real weight and sheen, zari resolved thread by thread.
Styling: a jasmine braid and temple jewellery.
Pose: walking side by side, her looking down shyly, him looking at her.
Setting: pillars receding into the distance, brass oil lamps lit along the floor.
Lighting: shafts of late-afternoon sun falling between the pillars.
Respectful, dignified mood. Photorealistic, 4K ultra-high definition.

Generated output. The bands of sunlight between the pillars are the most important part of this composition. The negative prompt excludes deity images. Most temples don't allow shoots in the inner shrine, and a corridor or temple tank works better anyway.

How to actually use these before your shoot
- Narrow down locations first. Run the same couple photo through three or four of these. You'll usually rule out at least one immediately, which saves you a day of travel.
- Then try outfits. Once you've chosen a location, keep its prompt and change only the outfit field. Colour clashes you'd never notice in a shop show up immediately against sandstone, snow or sea.
- Show the result to your photographer. A reference image of the two of you in the light you want is much clearer than a Pinterest board of strangers.
Use the AI preview to plan the real shoot, not to replace it.
