Searches for "birthday invitation" run at about 50,000 a month all year. "Christmas party invitation" jumps to 33,000 in November, and in India "digital wedding invitation" doubles in October and November as wedding season starts. Most people searching will end up on a template site, editing a stock design that a hundred other people have already sent.
These ten prompts make an original invitation with your names and date already on it. They cover weddings (an Indian e-invite, a floral invitation, a save-the-date and an engagement invite), birthdays for children and adults, a baby shower, Christmas and New Year's Eve parties, and a griha pravesh or housewarming.
How to get your names and date spelled correctly
Every invitation on this page rendered its text correctly on the first try. That's because each prompt follows three rules:
- Quote every line exactly.
"Ananya & Rohan"and"12 . 02 . 2027", not "the couple's names and the date". - Give the order and the hierarchy. "From top to bottom: blessing small, names large in the centre, date below." That stops the model inventing its own layout.
- End with
Nothing else written anywhere.Without it, models fill empty space with fake addresses, RSVP lines and lorem ipsum.
Keep each line short. A name, a date and a few words is reliable; a full address with a PIN code is not. Put the long details in the message you send with the image, or add them in Canva. And proofread every name before you send it.
Wedding invitations
1. Indian wedding e-invite: royal gold arch
Vertical, ready for WhatsApp: a gold jharokha arch, marigold and rose garlands, and two elephants at the base.
Design a vertical 9:16 digital Indian wedding invitation for sharing on WhatsApp, shown
flat and filling the frame. Design: an ornate gold jharokha arch framed by hanging
marigold and rose garlands, with two small elephants at the base, on a deep maroon
background with a faint paisley pattern, symmetrical, fine gold detailing.
Text, in this order from top to bottom, each spelled exactly as written:
"Shubh Vivah" small at the top; "Ananya & Rohan" large in elegant gold script in the
centre; "12 . 02 . 2027" below the names; "Udaipur" small at the bottom.
Nothing else written anywhere. Hierarchy: the names are clearly the largest text.
Colors: maroon, gold and marigold.

Generated output. "The names are clearly the largest text" is what gives it a proper invitation layout. Without it, the model sizes every line the same. Swap maroon for royal blue or emerald and the design still works.

2. Floral watercolour wedding invitation
The classic Western invitation, shown as a styled flat-lay with an envelope and wax seal. That's also a good format for posting the design on Instagram.
Styled stationery flat-lay photograph of a wedding invitation suite on cream linen with a
length of silk ribbon, with a wax-sealed envelope, a sprig of eucalyptus and a gold ring
dish. The invitation: heavy textured cotton card, a hand-painted watercolour arrangement
of blush roses, white ranunculus and sage eucalyptus spilling from the top corner and
bottom edge, the centre left clean.
Text, each spelled exactly as written: "Emma & James" in flowing dark grey calligraphy in
the centre; "June 12, 2027" in small serif capitals beneath; "Lake Como" smaller below.
Nothing else written anywhere.

Generated output. "The centre left clean" keeps the flowers from growing over the names. The deckle edge on the card and the wax seal are what make it look like real stationery.

3. Save the date from your couple photo
Upload a photo of the two of you. It stays exactly as it is, and the save-the-date is laid out around it.
Turn this couple photo into a save-the-date card. Keep the photo itself completely
unchanged — both faces, skin tones and expressions exactly as they are.
Layout: the photo filling the top two-thirds with a clean cream text panel below.
Text, each spelled exactly as written: "Save the Date" in large flowing black script;
"Priya & Arjun" in small capitals; "10 . 10 . 2027" in thin black serif numerals.
Nothing else written anywhere. Clean, modern editorial wedding stationery.

Generated output. A separate text panel keeps the words off your faces. If you'd rather have text over the photo, choose a layout with "text in the sky". Don't have a good couple photo yet? Our pre-wedding shoot ideas can make one.

4. Engagement or roka invitation
Interlocking rings, a watercolour peony arch and your names. Change the heading to "Roka Ceremony" for a North Indian roka.
Design a vertical engagement party invitation, shown flat and filling the frame.
Design: two interlocking gold rings with a small sparkle, framed by a soft arch of blush
peonies and white roses in watercolour, on an ivory textured background.
Text, from top to bottom, each spelled exactly as written: "We're Engaged" in flowing
gold script; "Meera & Kabir" large in the centre; "20 . 12 . 2026" below.
Nothing else written anywhere. Colors: ivory, blush pink and gold.

Generated output. Watercolour flowers with gold type is a safe, elegant combination. For a roka, change the design field to "a roka thaal with marigolds" and the palette to marigold and maroon.

Birthday invitations
5. Kids' birthday: themed
Jungle, space, dinosaurs or mermaids, with original characters, the child's age built into the design, and no licensed characters.
Design a vertical children's birthday party invitation, shown flat and filling the frame.
Theme: a jungle safari — a smiling lion cub, a baby elephant, a giraffe peeking over palm
leaves, a monkey on a vine, illustrated in soft rounded storybook style, cheerful and
full of small details, with a clear open area for the text.
Text, each spelled exactly as written: "Aarav's Jungle Party" at the top in chunky
playful green letters; a large number "5" as a feature of the design; "Sat 14 Dec" small
at the bottom. Nothing else written anywhere.
Original characters only — no licensed or trademarked characters.

Generated output. "A large number as a feature of the design" got the 5 built out of leaves and vines. The model also left a blank oval for the details, which is handy for writing in the time and address. To get rid of it, remove "with a clear open area for the text".

6. Milestone birthday: 30th, 40th, 50th
Grown-up and glamorous: big gold balloon numbers on emerald, with confetti and champagne.
Design a vertical adult milestone birthday invitation, shown flat and filling the frame.
Centrepiece: the number "40" very large in glossy gold balloon numerals.
Decoration: a few clear balloons with gold confetti inside, scattered confetti and a pair
of champagne coupes at the bottom. Background: deep emerald green with a subtle linen
texture. Text, each spelled exactly as written: "Neha's 40th" above the number in elegant
white script; "Sat 6 Feb" small below. Nothing else written anywhere.
Colors: emerald, gold and white.

Generated output. A dark, rich background (emerald, black or navy) is what makes a milestone invitation look grown-up. Put pastels behind gold balloons and it looks like a children's party.

Baby shower
7. Baby shower or godh bharai invitation
Boho pampas and dried roses with a small teddy bear, in a soft, muted palette. Change the heading to "Godh Bharai" for an Indian baby shower.
Design a vertical baby shower invitation, shown flat and filling the frame.
Theme: boho — a soft arch of dried pampas grass, bunny tails and dusty-pink dried roses,
with a tiny teddy bear sitting at the base, in delicate watercolour, soft and gentle,
with a clear open area for the text.
Text, each spelled exactly as written: "Baby Shower" in flowing terracotta script;
"for Sana" below it; "Sun 17 Jan" small at the bottom. Nothing else written anywhere.
Background: warm cream paper. Colors: terracotta, dusty pink, sand and cream.

Generated output. "Muted and calm" keeps it gentle. Baby shower designs go wrong when they're bright and saturated. For a godh bharai, try "a godh bharai thaal with flowers" in the theme field.

Holiday parties
8. Christmas party invitation
The ugly-sweater party, the most-searched kind of Christmas party. Change the theme field for black-tie, cozy cocoa night or office party versions.
Design a vertical Christmas party invitation, shown flat and filling the frame.
Theme: an ugly-sweater party — the whole background is a cheerful knitted Christmas
jumper pattern of reindeer, snowflakes and zigzags, with a clean knitted panel in the
middle. Illustration with real knit stitch texture.
Text, each spelled exactly as written: "Ugly Sweater Party" large in chunky red letters;
"Fri 18 Dec" below; "7 pm" small at the bottom. Nothing else written anywhere.
Colors: Christmas red, forest green and cream.

Generated output. "Real knit stitch texture" is why it looks like an actual jumper rather than a flat pattern. The plain panel in the middle keeps the text readable on top of a busy design.

9. New Year's Eve party invitation
Disco ball, confetti, midnight navy: a countdown to 2027.
Design a vertical New Year's Eve party invitation, shown flat and filling the frame.
Theme: a mirrored disco ball hanging from the top scattering points of light, with silver
and gold confetti, glamorous and festive, with a clear area for the text.
Text, each spelled exactly as written: "NYE 2027" large in bold silver Art Deco
capitals; "31 Dec . 9 pm" below; "Dress: Sparkle" small at the bottom.
Nothing else written anywhere. Background: deep midnight navy with a velvet texture.
Colors: midnight navy, silver and gold.

Generated output. As with the New Year cards, add "wrong year" to the negative prompt. Models sometimes quietly use the current year.

Housewarming
10. Griha pravesh / housewarming invitation
Your new front door, decorated for the occasion: a mango-leaf toran, rangoli, kalash pots and diyas. Swap the illustration field for a modern housewarming with plants and string lights.
Design a vertical housewarming invitation, shown flat and filling the frame.
Illustration: the front door of a new home decorated for griha pravesh — a toran of
mango leaves and marigolds, a rangoli on the threshold, two brass kalash pots with
coconuts and small diyas on the steps, in warm detailed gouache illustration, welcoming,
with a clear area for the text.
Text, each spelled exactly as written: "Griha Pravesh" in elegant maroon calligraphy;
"The Nairs" below; "Thu 4 Feb" small at the bottom. Nothing else written anywhere.
Colors: marigold, mango-leaf green, maroon and cream.

Generated output. Describing the actual ritual objects (toran, rangoli, kalash with coconut) is what makes it read as a griha pravesh rather than a generic house. The negative prompt excludes deity images, so add those yourself if your family wants them.

Sending and printing
- WhatsApp and Instagram: every design is vertical, so it fills a phone screen and works as a status or story. Send the long details (full address, map link, RSVP number) as text in the same message.
- Print: 5x7 inch is the standard invitation size. Order on matte card. Gold in the image prints as a flat colour, not real foil.
- Many recipients: don't generate one image per guest. Make the design once with no guest name, then add names in Canva.
